The Man Who Started It All
Clancy Brothers Pest Control was founded in 1962 by our grandfather, Paul Clancy I.
Born in 1940 and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Paul left school after the third grade and learned to box at the Vine Street Community Center. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he became the 4th Army Welterweight Boxing Champion.
After returning home, Paul worked cleaning windows on Boston high-rises. A friend named Harold, who worked in pest control, asked Paul to lend a hand on a few jobs. Compared with hanging off the side of a building, pest control seemed like a safer line of work.
At just 22 years old, Paul decided to start his own business. He named it Clancy Brothers Pest Control after his five brothers: Sonny, William, Thomas, Donald, and his identical twin, John.
The business made its home in South Boston for the next fifty years. From those beginnings, Paul built a business that would become a lasting family legacy.
Part of the Greater Boston Community
Clancy Brothers has called Greater Boston home since 1962. From our roots in Roxbury and South Boston to our current headquarters in Quincy, we've grown alongside the communities we serve.
